The first Official Welder sponsorship of the Ultimate Adventure was secured by Hobart Welders.
This is a most fitting application for a sponsorship. If there is one thing you can count on during this week of wheeling, and for the several months of prep prior, is breakage - and we're not talking about the "just bolt it back on" type.
Hobart shipped out an Ironman 250 MIG to help in the construction phase of the Ultimate K-10. The 250 is a 220 powered MIG that was more than capable for the excessive welding required to get the yellow beast ready. Also delivered was their AirForce 625 plasma cutter. The 625 features the ability to clean cut through steel up to 1/2 inch thick.
Hobart's involvement did not end there. Their tech support truck was fired up and attended nearly every stop along the Ultimate Adventure. This was a welcomed addition as hardworking crew brought along a host of special welding tips and tricks as well.
Before you think that Hobart is a new player on the welding scene, think again, they've been around for over eighty years. Ironically, the staff spied this classic Hobart stick welder in a salvage yard on the way back home.
